Hello
Dr. Luvon Hudson, Founder, Host & Certified Mindfulness Coach
No long drawn out story here! I have spent the bulk of my career as an instructional design leader and earned a doctorate in Instructional Design. Launching my ID career was exciting as it blended my human resources and training & development background in such a creative way that I knew it was the career for me. However, I realized that my professors did not tell me about the expectations of working around the clock to get projects completed, delivering excessive loads of work in unrealistic time frames, or serving as the technical guru on many occasions simply because no one really knew what I did as an ID, making me the dumping ground for everything. As years have progressed, I realized the lack of down time presented a barrier for myself and others working tirelessly. Sometimes we just need a break. Not another conference, but a break! I founded idTherapi to dedicate retreats for Instructional Designers and serve my fellow peers in the field that burn the midnight oil week after week!
Our Why....
Our Mission
The mission is simple - To help you avoid burnout and fall in love with the field of instructional design (again)!
idTherapi offers retreats that focus on personal and professional growth. Our mission is to help people take time for themselves, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We offer a range of activities that are designed to help you re-energize and relax, as we believe that taking time to slow down and be mindful is essential to performing optimally as an instructional designer.
We offer a variety of activities to stimulate self-discovery, encourage growth, and provide a space for reflection and relaxation. Our retreats are designed to help guests explore and develop a greater understanding of themselves and the instructional design world around them.
Our Retreats
idTherapi retreats are designed to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for you to come to relax, recenter, and reconnect with the fast-paced ID role and working environments. We offer a variety of retreats including yoga, meditation and mindfulness, as well as workshops and activities that focus on self-growth and development.
Our retreats provide a safe space to take a break and learn new skills that will help you manage stress and anxiety that is sometimes present when working as an instructional designer. Not to make instructional design out to be a daunting career but let's face it, when is it a bad thing to take a break from your routine to focus on your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing?
So, it's time to get off the couch and join other thought-leaders and fellow instructional designers that need the break and time to recharge, rejuvenate, and reconnect as an ID! Book your retreat today and get ready to take a break from the ordinary.
